This quaint little town was originally occupied by the Lenni Lenape Indians.
In 1682, the first settlers built homes and soon established a rural Quaker
town, making a living through farming the fertile land. A Quaker meetinghouse
was built in 1700 and subsequently burned down in 1720. A new meetinghouse
was built of brick in 1802 and still stands today on the grounds of the
Moorestown Friends School. While traveling through the center of town,
one is witness to Moorestown’s historic beauty and charm. Moorestown
has preserved its past through the restoration and preservation of many
historic homes and landmarks.
Snedden Enrichment is located on the first floor of a historic home built
in 1865. Because of its close proximity to Main Street, visitors to the
office are within walking distance to the public library, restaurants,
a bakery, shops and a variety of novelty stores. Many families enjoy strolling
down Main Street while stopping along the way to eat and shop.
While in the area, there are many other things to do and places to visit.
